Michael M
Currently Israeli Currency is primary method of payment in the Gaza Strip. After the Israeli pullout is completed, will Palestine be issuing their own currency? They already issue their own stamps. My guess is that they will not have the infrastructure or minting facilities and will be forced to continue using Israeli Shekels. Could the de-shekeling of the Palestinian Authority have a negative affect on the Shekel Value or would it be negligible.
Scottishmoney
Several years ago when there was a relative time of peace between the Palestinian authority and Israel, there was discussion of creating a Palestinian currency. In fact there was even a website about creating the currency, but then nothing ever happened. In my personal opinion creating a currency before international recognition and a recognised peace would be a very bad idea. These people have been fighting each other and now even themselves for decades. So peace and international recognition are unlikely soon. I think it is unlikely that any but a souvenir currency would be created any time soon, it would otherwise be a costly mistake. Michael M
It is quite ironic that they would be using Israeli currency. Isn't it? You would think they would adopt the currency of Egypt or another Islamic nation especially since they do not recognize the existence of Israel in the first place. Guest Aidan Work
The Palestinian stamps are actually expressed in Jordanian currency. The currency of Jordan is 1000 Fils = 1 Dinar, which is the same system in use in Iraq. Aidan.

That would be 1000 folles to the dinarius, right? Fils <- folles dinar <- denarius dirhen <- drachma "Old times there are not forgotten."
