Rhino
I normally only collect Russian coins, so this is way out of my zone. As far as I know, it is a 1901 Florin, but is it authentic? And what is it worth in this condition? I came to have it by total accident, but was intrigued by the age and condition... Any help is appreciated
ccg
Definately real. Russian rubles and Chinese dollars are the only coins you ever really have to worry about. Probably would had been worth $10-15 without the damage. As-is, it would probably trade as "scrap".
Rhino
Thanks. I don't have any British coins at all, so I may keep it, or maybe I'll list it on ebay and see how it goes, I'm sure there are collectors out there who would still want it despite the damage - better than just hanging out here on my table. Peter
On Ebay UK it would go as scrap silver at approx 20x face (£4.00). It is pre 1920 & 92.5% silver.
