Jack 0
I found this in my grandfather's coin collection, too. Would this coin have any value to it?
Mr B 0
Greetings from New Britain Pa Jack , Yes , your nickel will have considerably more value than 5 cents. It appears to be in quite nice condition. You could easily be looking at $20-$30.
Art 0
Nice nickel. Not sure about the date. Looks like it may have some doubling/repunching going on.
Blackhawk 0
That's a nice looking coin.
just carl 0
Condition appears to be about AU which would mean a selling price of about a little over $100 or a little more. Of course that is if it really is an 1868 as it appears to be from the photo. Could use a better photo of the date though. Regardless, all of those Nickels are similar to the Liberty Head or Jefferson Nickels in that they do not really draw a crowd on purchasing. This means their value is no where near what it should be. ccg 0
Condition appears to be about AU Really? Though the piece is quite sharp the lines on the shield, especially the upper-right portion, look worn.
hiho 0
Really? Though the piece is quite sharp the lines on the shield, especially the upper-right portion, look worn. I agree that this does not appear AU. I would call it a strong VF35 with a shot at EF40. I think it's worth about $40.
Jack 0
Yes, the top right of the shield is a little worn, but not much. I'll try post a better picture later.
