stealer
Hey all I am new to collecting silver dollars (but not coins) and I was wondering if y'all could tell me if the coin is overgraded. It was graded by ANACS and I have read about ANACS' standards becoming lax after being sold and that it is now a third-tier grader. I did not know of this when I purchased the coin. The coin is graded MS-63 I dunno how to post pictures so here's the link to the auction http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=160392013297 Thanks in advance for help! ccg
Hard to say from the pics since they're not the best but it appears that the coin may indeed be UNC. I've never seen that particular type (yellow label) of holder before - I only recognize black label ANACS holders.

I'll try to get some better pictures when it comes
thedeadpoint
Looks 63 to me, but no higher. Maybe it's teh pics and a weak strike.
stealer
Ok guys, I got the coin today and here are some pictures. The pictures are too large and I'm not sure how to scale it so here are the links http://i48.tinypic.com/a082tc.jpg (obverse) http://i48.tinypic.com/2laa1k9.jpg (reverse) I know these aren't the best pictures but it'll have to do until I can find a better way to take a picture of it. Thanks for the responses!
Mark Stilson
Try a almost straight on shot outside in the sun. Just from the pics I would say 63 is accurate. Looks like a VAM 10 Slanted date. You might check other ones like the VAM 27 on VAMWorld.
stealer
Ok thanks Mark, I took a look at VAMWorld and it seems that I may have a VAM 10 Morgan dollar but I don't see any doubling for VAM 27. Great information nonetheless!! Update: After some better looks at my morgan and matching it with the VAM 10 example shown I do believe it is a VAM 10. That's just my opinion I will try to post more pictures of the date later.
