lekycoin
Hello all Sorry I posted this in the World Coins section earlier. Anyway, I am hoping someone can tell me if this token was really a souvenir of Napoleon's communion. Who was this given to? Did Napoleon himself handle this token once? And is it worth anything? Thank you. Date on coin says 7 May 1868 Cheers Alex
constanius
Welcome Alex, it is a genuine souvenir of Napoleon IV. He would not have handled it & it is probably worth between $10-$20 in my humble opinion. It has previously been mounted to hang from a ribbon etc, note flattened area above the head, and probably worn to the communion service. See my previous post below. Napoleon IV. Baptism Medal: Obv. NAPOLEON EUG.L.J.JOS. PRINCE IMPERIAL. Rev. Baptism scene. 14 JUIN 1856. by Borrel 24mm copper. Napoleon IV. Birth Medal: Obv. NAPOLEON EUG.L.J.JOS. PRINCE IMPERIAL. Rev. NE A PARIS 16 MARS 1856. by Borrel 24mm bronze. Napoleon IV. Baptism Medal: Obv. NAPOLEON EUG.L.J.JOS. PRINCE IMPERIAL. Rev. NE LE 16 MARS ET BAPTISE A NOTRE DAME LE 14 JUIN. 1856. Gilded bronze 34mm this size is rare.
