just carl
Well, it's hard to believe that not even one person could return my post, is this what 'coin people' are like? Many reasons for no replies. 1. No one knows the answer so all they could say is Hi, Welcome to the forum and No I don't know what that is. 2. Most people are out in their back yards bar-b-queing where I'll be in about 5 minutes. 3. I too have no idea of what that coin is nor how much it's worth so me too could only say Welcome to the forum. 4. As a general rule most people here like to help if possible but if they are not on line, that just can't happen. I know if I knew I'd try to help you so please don't think we are all a bunch of snobs. By the way if you do figure it out and/or someone tells you about that coin, let us all know. syzygy
hi, hope someone can offer me an idea of this coin's worth...thanks!...have i posted this in the right forum...just joined. In my opinion, your coin is not a mint error. It looks like a damaged large cent that has some cuts, corrosion and an odd kind of raised counterstamp. Again in my opinion, in that condition, it does not have a great deal of numismatic value.
Mark Stilson
Also things like just getting home from work tends to slow down my responses. Surfing the web at work could get me fired. As to value the graffiti and scratches pretty much kills the price.
thedeadpoint
I actually answered your question in the other thread you posted in with a real, sincere answer. Did you see it? Guess not. Check before you criticize this forum. K? Thanks. Bye.
UncleBobo
I seem to be the only 'coin person' who didn't initally respond to this topic because I wanted to be mean to the new member.
hiho
I'm mean too... ...just ask my wife. Oh, and that's an extremely rare mint error, the only one known, and it's worth about $2 million. I would send it to NGC immediately for certification. I am the meanest... PS - Welcome to Coin People. Not everyone is as mean as me.

just carl
what's NGC stand for, and how can i reach them?...thanks! In this instance NGC = No Good Coin NGC = Not Great Cent In reality there are what is known in the coin world as Grading services. These organizations also authenticate coins so that people will not pay for fakes or counterfeits. There used to be only a few of them but like Beanie Babies, TPGS's have grown into a massive pile of organizations. As noted just go to Google and type in Coin Grading Services. Last time I did there was almost 100 0f them. NGC is one of the older ones. PS. Don't really send that coin to them. It would cost you a lot of money for nothing.
