Bill Snyder
I'm getting confused regarding this 2 Kopek - While trying to compare it with the pictures in Brekke, I seem to see several varieties of eagle wing shapes and reverse leaves. Is it possible to establish the exact date of manufacture? Thanks to all, Bill

squirrel
why did they always seem to double strike these right over the date? AHA! perhaps a conspiracy to obscure the fact that old dies were used! Now we know the origin of multiple offstruck coins!
gxseries
Bill, you just reminded me of this coin that I have in my collection: Another error coin from the Izhora mint. How interesting! Bill - wanna try scanning it at 1200 dpi like how you did with your overstruck error coin? I'm sure there are suprises waiting to be found. (I did promise to write something about it )

(I did promise to write something about it ) QXseries, Right. I'll scan this one at 2400 dpi too. Maybe it WILL disclose something hidden by the 2nd strike. Good idea. Bill P.S. - Sometime in June though. We are off to visit the 'kids' this very weekend.
