NumisMattic2200
Third batch of miscellaneous oddities picked up a auction recently. Hope some of them can be identified. 1. A Jeton, appears to be a crab one side / Guy standing on the other. 2. Odd store token?.. Berlin wool = style of embroidery. **Have done research on this, found this site http://www.irish-tokens.co.uk/splitscreen/bottom%20drury.htm It comes under Dublin, Talty and Murphy (D89) Unofficial farhing! http://www.irish-tokens.co.uk/drury%20all%20thumbs.htm#x89 3. "Sundbaatene Christianasund" - my best guess is some sort of boarding token?? I cannot find any info on this ship.. 4. 5.

This piece is from Norway, from Kristiansund, it is for the steam powered passenger ferry that has operated there since 1876, and continues to do so using a ship that was originally built in 1856. It is the oldest continuously operating steam powered vessel in the world. My guess is that the token dates from the late 19th or early 20th century. Hey Scottishmoney, there's another one here on one of my favourite websites, Simmonsgallery. Great for info on tokens and other oddities. http://www.simmonsgallery.co.uk/2001site/t...es46/46-850.htm
