vanwink46
Hi, new to the forum, I found a 1863 penny says for the contractors on one side and the other side say not for one cent for the widows, can not find it anywhere except for an article in the New York Times back in the 1895 about the coin, just wondering if anyone has ever heard or seen this coin, wonder the vaule? Mark Stilson
Don't know a value but they were made by Emil Sigel. Should have Fort Lafaye on the head band. Here's a web site with one listed. Approx. 2,000 to 4,999 minted.
jtryka
Interesting CWT, we should start making those again today, trillions for wall street, not one cent for taxpayers...

I do have the one you have shown, the Fort Lafaye is faint, I need to get a magnifying glass to check it better. Thanks again, Jeff
