KoRnholio
Was watching an episode of Fringe and this supposedly very valuable coin was shown. Kinda poor pics as they are 14kb screen captures. I think it is supposed to be an old US gold double eagle? The 3rd pic doesn't look like the same coin though. Any other ideas? jtryka
Looks like a copy of a Type 2 Liberty double eagle ($20 gold).
thedeadpoint
Jtryka is right I think. My initial guess was a pattern.

SMS
As they have already said, it's a double eagle. Specifically, you can have a coin just like what they used in the TV show for only $19.99 at amazon!! It's a Replica 1849 Double Eagle Proof
Hussulo
Fingerprints!!! I know its just a money but in a real life scenario the coin looks proof or prooflike and that isn't the right way to handle it. Unless you want to knock a lump off its value. I know but it makes you wonder in real life how many times thieves have stolen coins and mishandled them.
jtryka
Yes, I missed that the motto wasn't there, so it's a copy of a Type 1 double eagle. Easy to miss, though I was focused on the shield which looked like a rounded Type 2 shield, lost in the forest and can't see the trees!
