constanius
Obv. WALTER SCOTT 1824 Rev. TRUTHS SEVERE IN FAIRY FICTION DRESSED. Silver 55mm by W. Wyon. Rare. This, I suspect has been buried hence the condition but the Doubling is still very clear. Even the head of the seated figure is doubled and the platform they are on is doubled from the mid-point of the medal. An early error. Also the date on the obverse is doubled. Hussulo
That's a neat medal. I live not far from his (Abbotsford) house. http://www.scottsabbotsford.co.uk/ edited to add link.

constanius
This is a WM. example from Coinviewer the reverse shows what mine should look like without the doubling. But look at the obverse closely (enlarge it) the lettering is ghosted and he has a double chin (upwards) double neck, another nose, forehead etc and the date is doubled, obviously they had trouble striking these medals!!! I believe they used multiple strikes and there must have been some rotation of one of the dies. Mine had the error on the reverse, this on the obverse.
