asian_note_collector Posted March 10, 2009 Report Share Posted March 10, 2009 Hi,I need all the banknote collectors and specialists to help me this time.This is a straits settlements king george the fifth $5 dollar note issued in 1935 with missmatch prefix numbers B/27 00001 on the left bottom and B/41 100000(additional 0) on the right top.Beside that,there are number 12345 printed on top of this note.This note was kept by a british government in his book in 1937,the green colour numbers and date written by him on the plastic cover(not on the note).However somebody stole the book out and discovered this note in the book and sold to my friend uncle and my friend uncle just showed me this note and i took a picture of it.At first i was shocked to see the mismatch number especially the right number on top with an extra 0 on the number and also the number 12345 printed on top center of the note.Honestly,i have never ever seen anything like this before as a banknote collector,never seen anyone auctioned and sold on ebay before.I have a few question to ask here. 1.what happend to this note during processing? 2.Is this considered an major error note or unique number note? 3.Why this note has 12345 printed on top center of the note? 4.Is this note rare or common? 5.Does it has any special value and keen by the collector? I THINK THIS ERROR NOTE IS VERY SPECIAL AND WILL FETCH VERY HIGH PRICE,IT IS THE MOST VALUEBLE NOTE IN HIS COLLECTION. Beside this note,my friend uncle has many straits settlements and malaya british borneo note such as 1942 malaya KGVI $1000 note,1953 British north borneo QEII $100&$1000 notes and many old straits settlements and malaya and british borneo notes all in his collection.Fortunely,he wanted to sell his whole entire malaya and british borneo collection to a keen buyer or collector for those who can afford and pay very high prices for all his rare notes in his collections only.IF anyone who is interested to buy and can afford it please take a flight all the way to malaysia to see me and ill take you to see my friend uncle and see his rare note one by one,you can purchase any of his note or the whole entired of his rare note collections if you can afford,no shipping courier service post becouse of item will be lost of damaged.please contact me by email or at here if you are interested.Thanks. This 1935 note look like a specimen note. Early specimen notes have mismatch upper and lower serial number. I am certain it is not an error note. Maybe you can ask your friend uncle to bring his collection to Mavin International Auction ( held every quarterly in Singapore ) or the annual Spink Auction for South East Asian notes also held in Singapore. He should be able to fetch a good price for his collection but definitely not 5 millio USD. That is just too high. At the same time, the authencity of your friend uncle collection can be verified by the experts either from Mavin or Spink, depending on whichever one your friend uncle choose to place them for the auction. Sorry to disappoint you, but the exact note with the same printer's notation (o734828 + 7.9.37) "similar pen smudings - thick & thin)" in the top margin of note, was sold in the Singapore Spink auction of 20 June 1998 for SGD1,700 to a local collector! I'm not sure why this posting is still even here. You're trying to sell stolen banknotes on behalf of this guy.... is he, or you, not concerned about the possible ramifications of that? I checked out the website and it appears to be very new... but why would he list a note like that for auction for 3 million on a site that has 5 members???? cause your trying to get people to look at the site... thats why...
