bill
I'm not sure what the topic is for Elsen Auction 99 on March 28, I didn't receive a catalog. I did receive a catalog for Auction 100 on March 29. Normally, the Elsen catalogs are online, but they currently have a pdf posted for Auction 100 with 22 sample lots pictured. The full auction is 1162 lots of medals and jetons from the collection of Yvon Kenis. It is worth loading the pdf to see even a small sample of the quality pieces in the auction. There are 60 Dassier lots, 13 of them are multiple medal lots, the remainder high grade specimens. Its worth watching the site to see if they post the entire catalog, but I suspect not at this late date. The pdf is worth a look at www.elsen.eu. elverno
Got my paper catalog yesterday. As usual a great auction comes along when I've been forced to "re-task" the collecting budget. "I'm not sure we really need to eat this month honey." That went over like a lead balloon...

Ian
Thankfully, no French jetons.......some came awfully close (jetons by Norbert Roetiers for Anvers moneyers /mint) but the thought of having to live on cornflakes for a month and answering to she who must be obeyed persuaded me to close the internet connection before placing any bids. elverno
I was just perusing the sections within the French Revolution and First Empire. Truly a great time to update German and Austrian pieces. But no money... sigh... Fortunately, when we die our ungrateful descendants dump our collections and give the rest of us another chance! bill
Auction 99 is strong on medals as well. One of my favorites is lot 2959 and a Turkish medal, lot 3333.

You are a man of refined taste Bill. Beauties, my wallet is empty, shame.
bill
You are a man of refined taste Bill. Beauties, my wallet is empty, shame. I'm bidding on a French medieval coin in 99, my wallet does not allow me to enjoy all that I like either. Although I was sorely tempted to make an exception for 2959. It is a beautiful medal.
