sturzny
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=310099354265 Saw this listed in the Russian coin section and it made me wonder, is this really the Alexander Column? Or some other monument in Germany? If it exists, it would be a monument in Bavaria, probably in Munich. The legend on the monument side reads "Monument to the thirty thousand Bavarians who died (lit. found their death) in the Russian war". It was apparently struck in Greece, but I doubt it's a coin pattern. T. Ertel was a maker of surveying equipment in Munich in the 19th century, perhaps he did engraving for medals also.
