NumisMattic2200
Can anyone direct me to where I can view files/web pages on the prices realised for British coins, especially if accompanied with the auction catalogues? Thanks, Matt

NumisMattic2200
I see the prices realised are also out of synch with the 'estimates', as usual!... http://www.coinarchives.com/w/lotviewer.ph...51&Lot=1872 Estimate: 40 Euro - Realised 110 Euro http://www.coinarchives.com/w/lotviewer.ph...78&Lot=1128 Estimate 100 Euro (?) - price realised: 110 Euro (but estimate was high)
YeOldeCollector
How do I use it? Well, if I'm looking to sell or buy an expensive coin, i.e. £400+, then I'd look in CoinArchives to see how they do in the major auction houses. Estimates are nearly always below what they go for, they do it to entice bidders and it certainly works well!
NumisMattic2200
Haha yes, I worked that much out recently, and don't forget it also entices potential sellers who read Coin News every month and regularly read up about how coins made twice or multiple times their mid-estimates, thus increasing the amount of coins being sold at auction houses. Exactly! But I cannot complain, I've had more than my fair share of bargains from one particular auction house!
