bksparkz
I just got this Moneta. Its from 1752. I have a few of these from other years, but this one has an E on the lower left side of the eagle. Why is that E there? Does anyone know what it means? Thank you so much! It would appear that the Chinese counterfeiter who made this specimen got his dies mixed up. The letter E on the reverse was used only at Moscow and stands for Egor Ivanov. The St. Petersburg obverse used on this piece requires mintmaster initials with 2 letters. RWJ
