macarenses
Please see my bronze plaque showing the Apocalypse, Revelation, Chapter 13, and the seven headed, ten horned beast coming out of the water. The text in French around the heads read like the seven deadly sins: god of war, fraud, rape, profit, envy, pride and hate. Undated (probably early 20th century) and no artist signature. I did buy it alongside some Walther Eberbach and Ludwig Gies medals and I always hoped it was connected to the hell of WW1 in someway. It is 19cm in length and 15cm in width which is quite large. It is of very high quality so I wondered does anyone know anything about this??
bill
I don't know anything about it, but it is a spectacular plaque!
macarenses
I contacted Philip Atwood at the British Museum about the plaque to see what he thought. All he said is that he thought, like me, that it would be late 19th century - early 20th century. Nowt more than that I am afraid Macarenses
