bobh
According to the references, this shouldn't be overstruck, but who knows? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=150295433175
alexbq2
The left wing (from my perspective, the right wing from eagle's) has a second outline next to it. So looks like a double strike.
gxseries
Bobh, I'm probably not able to see things as you are right now. Whereabouts in the coin do you suspect something is hiding in there? I do see quite a fair bit of unusual pitting which I suspect is poor quality planchet initially but otherwise not something I can see at the moment. I think there must have been dirt or other stuff on either the dies or the planchet. Machorka crumbs?
