1990 dime copper

unfortunately its not an error... looks like someone really messed it up... and then the ground did its worst... but an error, I sure dont think so

 

Yeah doesn't look like that happened at the mint. From the photo, it looks like it was encased and hammered. Did it maintain any reeding on the edge? If you want to follow up, get the precise weight. Remember that all cents after 82 were copper-plated zinc and weigh 2.5 gms. Clad dimes weigh 2.27 gms. See where your piece falls - my guess is more than 2.5 gms based on a hunch that it was encased.
