savok
Can an individual (as opposed to a member dealer) send a coin into the NGC for slabbing/grading? How much do they charge for this service? I have noticed some very inexpensive coins from time to time appearing slabbed and wonder how cheap the service is if it makes financial sense to slab a coin worth $20-30... jtryka
Individuals who are members of the ANA or the NGC collectors society can submit directly (collectors society cost $99 and gets you 5 free submissions). I think the modern coin tier is fairly inexpensive, maybe $15 each, but large dealers who submit hundreds/thousands of coins get them even cheaper, which would explain the inexpensive coins you see slabbed. Hope this helps!

Which grading service has the best reputation with foreign material (specifically Russian)?
hiho
OK, that sounds fair. Which grading service has the best reputation with foreign material (specifically Russian)? NGC is my first choice for grading world coins. Though if they are cleaned, corroded, scratched, bent or damaged in any way don't waste your time and money, as they will come back tagged and bagged. just carl
Why not just go to the NGC, PCGS or other web sites and ask? Nothing to loose you know. They too have web sites where you can ask question and they are free. Also, if you go to Google and type in coin grading services you may find there are many, many of them.
