OCTOB . MDCCXXVII. Metal: Gilded copper or bronze 33 mm. By John Croker. The gilding goes all around the edge but has disappeared from the obverse & reverse. I know that George III gold coronation medal of 1761 was actually only gilt bronze. Does anyone know if the gold medal for Caroline in 1727 was only gilt bronze?
