Mark Stilson
The way how the hinge looked like it worked. And the easy give away no machine lines around the E in "States" and the we in "In God We Trust"
hiho
I normally wince when a nice US coin is turned into something it was never intended to be but this piece is different and was obviously done by a real craftsman. Very nice Matt.
Mark Stilson
Shame someone went after it inside and out with a brillo pad. What kind of gold weight left? I noticed they had to cut it pretty thin. Its even showing a depression on the obverse.
LostDutchman
yeah kind of my thinking... I wish they hadn't done that... as for weight.. there isn't a lot of the original coin left and the insert in the coin is 14K so there is less gold... gxseries
That's still amazing - never knew people those days had such ability to make lockets. But can you imagine the cost of one if you are to do something similar in today's prices?
