Andrey5
The 5th edition of Krause doesn't have a photo of Greece 10 Lepta 1844-1846 KM#25. Could anybody kindly explain the difference between KM#17 and KM#25 ? I'd appreciate if anybody could post a picture of a page from a Greek national coin catalog with these two coins. asimako
KM17 obverse legends first word is 'BAΣΙΛΕΙΑ', while at KM25 it is 'BΑΣΙΛΕΙΟΝ' first word means 'royal regime' (more generic) while second means 'kingdom'. this change was due to public uprising on Sep 3, 1844 at the Constitution Square in Athens' centre (in front of the former Palace, now the Greek Parliament) which led to the monarchy in Greece to become constitutional. greetings from beautiful Greece!
