STEVE MOULDING
His feedback is enough to make me run for the exit! The recent negatives are basically all from the same bidder, so don't be too harsh. I've bought from Alek in the past...simple stuff but he's always been very pleasant to deal with. Never had a problem. The coin in question does look odd, but I'm not a gold expert. Steve

STEVE MOULDING
Maybe you were lucky. This does not inspire my confidence. Maybe so. I won't say no to luck sometimes (the good kind of course). However back to the original question in this thread. I didn't immediately see any negatives about fake coins (though I only did a quick scan). Nobody seems to be screaming about him pedalling the usual Chinese junk. He seems to have more of a problem with payment methods and sending stuff. I seem to remember (this was a couple of years ago) that it wasn't straightforward (no PayPal for example). Some bidiots only figure the details after the auction and then throw a temper tantrum when they find out. Yes the negatives look bad and I can only offer a couple of limited experiences. I had no real problems and haven't yet seen any obvious fakes, though again I haven't really checked very closely lately. Steve
lennysky
I had bad experience with Israeli sellers in the past, not this specific one, but in general. All were pedaling fake gold coins with a few stray real ones in-between. When it came time for a refund, they charge a restocking fee of 10%
bobh
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...=tab%3DWatchingIs it me or ...? Looks OK to me. It has some wear and a few rim dings; perhaps it was cleaned in the past. But it is a rare year for ten roubles, so there is always the possibility of being fake. I would want to weigh the coin and see the edge before spending this kind of money.
