hertfordian
Has anyone seen this set, advertised on the Royal Australian Mint website? http://mintissue.ramint.gov.au/mintissue/p...asp?code=801880 In it, there is a 2008 UK sovereign struck in rose gold (according to the label on the image at the bottom of the page). Has anyone heard of one of these being issued before and moreover, isn't it strange that the Royal Mint themselves haven't promoted this coin on their website (never knowingly missing a chance to try and milk more money out of us collectors these days!). Gwent_Boy
This would appear to be just the conventional 22 ct gold/copper alloy sovereign produced by the Royal Mint. It probably has been termed rose gold by the Royal Australian Mint to explain the difference in colour between the coin and the two other fine gold coins. TreasureGirl
It's too bad if Robert's right. I would have LOVED to see coins minted in non-white or yellow gold.
