Scottishmoney
I have a bunch of Panamanian silver coins from the 40's through the 60's that are just bullion to me. I might have a non considered bullion piece Balboa somewhere too, I like it for the lovely feminine figure on the reverse. Panama's Balboa started out at 2:1 against the dollar and was devalued to parity shortly thereafter ca. 1910 or so. It has stayed there ever since, and with a very brief exception in 1941 when one of the dictators printed up Balboa denominated notes, Panama has always used US paper money. Occasionally I have gotten Panamanian coins in change, I know I have gotten a centesimo somewhere, and also one of the 1/10th balboa coins for a dime. jtryka
At my coin club meeting last night I picked up a 1931 Balboa and a 1926 Venezuelan Bolivar for less than melt! They were both circulated, but I am nearing enough for a roll of non-US silver dollar size coins!
