NexusFred
Hello, I have a little problem with the Bitkin. In the introduction, page XII, Bitkin wrote : "This book uses the same system of group indication that Chr. Giel used in this works" and "Number inside these symbols indicates a group of a coin (per conventional number introduced by Chr. Giel)." I do not have the books of mister Chr. Giel. Where I can find this system of group ? PS(I do not speak or read Russian lol) Thanks
alexbq2
Hello Fred, You can probably find an electronic version online, or a reprint on eBay. Respectfully, Alex

alexbq2
It is only in Russian. But it is tables/lists of coins. I'm not sure what you are looking for, but for general collecting, if you already own Bitkin you probably do not need this one.
NexusFred
It's better with a picture lol (see file attach)
alexbq2
Look at the beginning of the book, this should be all explained. Number 6 is the type of edge, there is a list. Circle vs. rhombus is circulation coin vs. Novodel restrike.
NexusFred
I saw the information about the Novotel restrike but nothing about the numbers !! That the list i'm looking for !
extant4cell
As far as I know, the system Bitkin has used for his catalog is the same as Brekke did, and probably many before them... Here is from Brekke:
