alexbq2
I am also confused, there's 50 million of them minted and from what I've seen most are in a better shape then the one on sale here? Is that the right auction link?

Did that one look fake to you when you bought it? I'd still like to know what you think looks wrong with this one. This is a really really common $1 coin. halfdollar
What's wrong with it? Aren't these things ridiculously common? Why do you think it's bad??? This was last weeks discussion regarding the coin I bought. Link I was checking the sellers goods today to see if he is selling any other counterfeit coins. I am not proficient in Russian coins and wanted to ask opinions.
gxseries
I think you are being too critical at the moment. It's just one bad egg that you've bought. It's ok but I disagree with UNC; VF at most.
RW Julian
Ebay I bought a fake coin from this guy and he is selling another. It doesn't look real to me. What do you think? A very common issue and almost certainly genuine. RWJ
Scottishmoney
These coins are also quite common in uncirculated, I have numerous examples that I got from trades with a collector in Russia. They were minted in good quantities, but usually did not circulate due to the war, revolution, inflation etc.
STEVE MOULDING
halfdollar...Sorry you had a bad experience last time, especially if you're new to Russian coins. I can understand why you'd be worried about other offerings from the same seller. Some time looking at these auctions and cross-referencing against your favorite reference (I'd recommend Bitkin if you want to get serious) will get you up to speed! Keep an open and critical mind. And for a couple of bucks buy one of these 1914s somewhere. Nothing like having the real thing in front of you! Steve
