Reluctant collector

Recommended Posts

Hallosh, I've just become your friendly neighborhood floppybelly. I inherited my grandmother's coin collection, and there are some pretty interesting ones in there. There's one in particular that's been bugging me, it has no writing on it. I've been looking online for a program to help identify it, like a flowchart or something, but haven't found any. So I came here and I'm hoping you guys can help me out! I don't have a scan of the coin itself yet, but it's silver and very lightweight, almost as though it's made of tin. It's not round, but more decagon-ish or whatever. (I haven't actually counted the sides...) On one side it has a line drawing of a swami-guy's head, on the other side, a line drawing of what looks like the Taj Mahal. No dates, no letters, no nothing.

Anyway, it's very nice to meet you all, and I hope to have a good time showing this coin and the rest of my new collection to you.

Can I nominate this for the Coin Collectors Quote of the Year 2007?!!

I'm sure someone will be able to identify your coin when you have uploaded a photo of it.

And nice to meet you to!

The middle one is very common, a modern, just pre-Euro 25 pesetas of Spain, the one on the right doesn't strike me as a coin at all as there's no numbers, even in Arabic form..the other one seems to have a trough in the middle on one side?

The antelope thingy is interesting... it's not a telephone token is it?

Soon soneone will tell us, i am sure..
