A little error quiz for you ! Coin number 3

Dooly, if you knew how much I like to find errors in coins... this one's got me baffled.

Right off the top I think the bust looks more like a Roman emporer than a Brit named George III. There is also some doubling (machine or otherwise) on most of the obv lettering. Is it suppose to have two 't's in Britt?

Is the bust faced in the wrong direction?

On the rev, is that really how they spelled Pense back then?

Is that the correct shield for George III family?

 

You see, you are causing more questions than answers. Trouble maker... :ninja:

Glad you are having fun.. you will probably have to use the full size images to get this one !!!

 

The bust is spot on for the coin !

No doubling mechanical on the Obv !

Yes two T's in Brittania is normal !

Bust is in the right direction !

Pense is correct for the era !

And the shield is the correct one !

Wow. But why???

 

i do not exacly know why but quite a few coins i have had from this era have had 1-3 letters formed like this .. so check them out and find yourself a bargain :ninja:
