corkykile
And the last one. I am not certain this is actually an incomplete planchet. It might fall into another category. Seeing as it is by then I can only guess that it is mint damage. Corky
Vfox
I would guess it's a clipped planchet, but only slightly. Either that or the mill didn't create a complete rim for the blank coin.
corkykile
I would guess it's a clipped planchet, but only slightly. Either that or the mill didn't create a complete rim for the blank coin. I photographed both sides of the coins and the detail is virtually the same obv and rev. Yep, this is the one I wasn't sure about either. It looks almost like someone sanded down the rim and side. Because it was in a bu roll I tend to think it is a planchet or strike error of some sort. Guess I will just leave it at that and put them all in flips and keep them in my curiosity category box of coins. It is really fun to find all these odds and ends of cents.
