Yes, but with the ghosted (brokage? die clash?) image of a coin that wasnt minted yet for another 2 years.... ;)
basok
This is an altered coin made to deceive collectors. A later coin of Nicholas I cipher type was smashed against an earlier coin of 1838.
banivechi
And you can do that if you put a regular 1 kopek 1840-47 over a 2 kopeks 1831-39 and press them in any kind of machinery at 2, 5 or 10 tons. I am sure that is a "home" work, not an error or overstrike.

grivna1726
Most likely , but still very interesting piece of history. Don't you think so ? Well, um, no, not exactly. I agree that it's an "interesting" artificial curiosity until one realizes its true nature. Its only claim to history is the fact that it's an example of the attractive wings down design. Unfortunately, it has been all but completely ruined by someone trying to create an instant rarity in his basement. Too bad.

grivna1726
Listing ended earlier ... Why ? Your opinions ? I don't know what happened, but I think maybe you do. Here's a guess. You contacted the seller and he pulled it from sale?

Oldman
You bought it? Unfortunately, not me. I quit collecting coins last year because of crazy prices. Selling them little by little... Just wondering , how much this piece could go for ? Looks like a fantasy coin....
