belg_jos
and here's the obverse Regards, Jos
Mark Stilson
Its a third reverse. See how the arrow feathers are slanted out ward. The first reverse on a morgan had 8 tail feathers on the eagle and the feathers were parallel. The second reverse they changed the eagle feathers to 7. The third they also slanted the arrow feathers outward. Edit: BTW you might want to check what VAM it is. Just a fast look at least a vam 2 open 9 If I'm seeing that right. Check for any doubling though or other markers listed.
belg_jos
I really need to get this, cos I've seen that the difference in value is quite considerable. This isn't mine yet, nor will it be. I saw it on the website of a dealer, where I just bought some Belgian coins. Now I have the habit of checking the US coins everywhere I go, and this one was too good to ignore. Just had to be sure about that reverse. It looks like an open 9, but don't know if it's worth bying. It's $35 and I would buy it only to sell it again. Good buy or not? Jos
Mark Stilson
Price wise thats a tough call with the picture used. Is it graded? I can't tell if there is luster and the color really throws me off. Almost like there is a painted on toning. That may still be a problem with the picture not the coin though. It doesn't show any major marks. Some wear at the ear but not bad. A couple things to consider have you dealt with the dealer before and does he have a decent return policy? belg_jos
No, it's a new contact I'm checking out. I guess I will pass on this one. The rim doesn't look flawless, and since it isn't a real must have VAM, I'll keep on looking Thanks for your help though, Mark!
