Capt-AWACS
As a currency guy I was waiting for this and here goes: http://www.moneyfactory.gov/newmoney/flash...unveil5new.html There are bigger PDFs to view at moneyfactory.gov I like the stars around Lincoln's potrait. The purple 5 is different. I have to see that in person first to make a decision if I find it aesthetically pleasing or not. jtryka
Why didn't they just put a giant purple 5 on a sheet of paper with a security thread and be done with it? I hate modern US currency...

Scottishmoney
This would be a lot harder to counterfeit, for one thing it is made of polymer and not paper: The thing is with the BEP is that they do a little too little too late. For one thing they are always reactive in their approach to security, not proactive.

Hmm, I do not really like it. The US paper money has a very "traditional" or "old fashioned" look. Whether one likes that or not is a different issue, but this big 5 is an element that does in my opinion not match very well. Christian

Christian It would be nice if US paper money could even join the 20th century, let alone the 21st. But I don't want it to look like Euros either.
