I collected a lot of China years ago, now I would like to collect the banknotes from Jiangxi province. They are rather elusive though, and pricey.

You have to just love China for banknotes, they invented them and they sure crank out a lot of different kinds of them, especially from 1912-1949.

LOL I was looking earlier at some of the many different types that there are and I will admit to feeling quite daunted but at the same time excited at the prospect of learning more about them :ninja:

I just use Pick's Pre-60 and Specialized Catalogues. The specialized one has lots of really weird stuff (minor private banks) in it.

I'm sure there's probably some good Chinese language references that provide the backgrounds for a lot of them, but I have not tried seeking any out.

Since my budget for notes is pretty small, it's been mostly Central Bank and BoComm notes. I've love to have the opportunity to see some HSBC or Imperial notes.
