They are rather elusive though, and pricey. You have to just love China for banknotes, they invented them and they sure crank out a lot of different kinds of them, especially from 1912-1949. ccg Posted August 10, 2007 Report Share Posted August 10, 2007 I just use Pick's Pre-60 and Specialized Catalogues. The specialized one has lots of really weird stuff (minor private banks) in it. I'm sure there's probably some good Chinese language references that provide the backgrounds for a lot of them, but I have not tried seeking any out. Since my budget for notes is pretty small, it's been mostly Central Bank and BoComm notes. I've love to have the opportunity to see some HSBC or Imperial notes.
