roaddevil
back guys gahhh sry been out shopping for "travel" cloths x< went an picked my stuff in 2 hrs an then had to wait like 10hrs for my mum an sis !!!!!!! gahhh an since i didnt sleep for 36hrs took a nice long nap anyway:- no the 63 in f condition isnt worth that much xD u can get a bu/unc on ebay way cheaper (its on for $0.99 right now) xD Silver coins were widely saved all over the world. The only ones that are tough are those with low mintages. Cu/ ni and other base metal coins were usually ignored and some are rare no matter how high the mintages. This appears to be the case with the '68 and later large denomination Swiss coins. These do look really nice in silver so there is widespread demand for the old- er coins. These usually will bring a nice premium in unc and more in gem. oooo a 1968 is rare? yippie ^_^ got it free ^_^ well actually all my swiss coins except my oldest 1928 r free i have 2 sendin 1 to dustin ....dustin im sendin u a rare xD anyways ill like it if anybody has a list of mintages of swiss coins anyone ? cladking
back guys gahhh sry been out shopping for "travel" cloths x< went an picked my stuff in 2 hrs an then had to wait like 10hrs for my mum an sis !!!!!!! gahhh an since i didnt sleep for 36hrs took a nice long nap anyway:- no the 63 in f condition isnt worth that much xD u can get a bu/unc on ebay way cheaper (its on for $0.99 right now) xD oooo a 1968 is rare? yippie ^_^ got it free ^_^ well actually all my swiss coins except my oldest 1928 r free i have 2 sendin 1 to dustin ....dustin im sendin u a rare xD anyways ill like it if anybody has a list of mintages of swiss coins anyone ? I did not mean to imply that all (or any) of the larger denomination Swiss coinage dated '68 and later is rare, but merely that they are in the category of coins that have been widely ignored for decades. In a sense some of these actually are rare. If you compare the number available in unc to the number of the silver coins available in unc, most of them appear nearly "rare". The 1963 1F had a mintage of 13 million and large numbers of these were saved by collectors and hoarded by the general public who thought silver prices were going much higher. In con- trast the 1971 1F had a mintage of 11 million which is a little less. Collec- tors ignored this coin because it was debased junk and the public certainly had no interest in saving it. Have you ever seen a roll of these? Have you ever seen a single specimen in true unc? Probably not!! They issued 5,000 mint sets and these were mostly excellent quality but attrition has been ve- ry high on these. The sets sell for a song since there is nearly NO demand since almost NO ONE collects this junk. So today the millions of 1963 silver 1F coins list for $5.50 in Krause but the relatively rare 1971 lists for $5.00 The '71 has more than doubled in the last couple years while the '63 is down a little from 20 years ago! While none of the Swiss moderns are really rare, there are other countries and in some cases there were no mint sets at all issued and the circulating coins were melted after years of heavy use. Try finding an unc of one of those. Does anyone really think that a couple thousand 1971 francs are going to be enough to satisfy the world coin market into the future? This may not be the toughest of the modern Swiss either. Some of the 5F coins are highly elusive.
