Prethen
Yep, I went 3CN crazy! I'm ecstatic about these recent purchases, from three different sources. 1875 3CN AU58-Nice luster remains on this coin, although a bit muted; very, very difficult to find in this high grade 1875 3CN PCGS MS62-Improper allow mixture gives this coin its streaky copper color; PCGS might not have liked the coloration much and netted it down a grade; lots of luster, but not gem-like 1880 3CN NGC XF45-The strike is a bit stronger than I'd like for a coin where I can't see the edge to be certain it's not a Proof, but the Gifford die variety appears to place this is a business strike
thedeadpoint
Gorgeous Prethen. I am looking to get into series from the mid-to-late 19th C so I can start keeping an eye on varieties. So far though, no luck easily getting into such a series - seems like everyone else has the same idea out there.
