willieboyd2
(I posted this because the original link seems to have disappeared) by McAvoy Layne of the Tahoe Bonanza newspaper July 25, 2007 Describes the 50 peso Mexico gold coin as "rare" which it isn't. It is a bullion piece. Gustavo Mercado, a newly arrived immigrant from Mexico, was so happy to have a decent job at a beautiful lake in America that he offered a gift to his employer, a 50 peso Libertad gold coin. (The Libertads are silver) ... The senator from Massachusetts thought long and hard about keeping the coin, as he found himself hard-pressed to think of anybody more powerful than himself... (No doubt a dig against Senator Kennedy) http://www.tahoebonanza.com/article/200707...inion/107250012
