gxseries
I'm pretty sure that I got a copper coin that is similar to Uzdenikov Type II A/a, which corresponds to 1718-1721, a nice short 4 years. Can't identify the year yet but I'm sure it's one of those four years, likely to be 1718 or 1719. Yes it is from the lot of super worn Russian coins - don't even know how I managed to identify some of them. Most of them don't seem common regardless with or without mintmarks. I haven't seen any coins from this era, or rather this is the first time I have obtained any polushkas of Peter I. Anyone with any great examples especially ones with mintmark? Thanks in advance. squirrel
heres my little collection of 1720-21 polushka... 1720 cyrillic date has a barely legible mint mark.
squirrel
gx, here is a compare in size with some other peter I copper. earlier polushka is 1706, denga is 1704, and kopeck is 1708. look closely at the kopeck, and you will see it is actually an overdate, 1708/7! gxseries
Wow nice ones! Thanks for showing! The kopek is pretty neat. Got to hunt down if mine has a mintmark or not. I think mine is a 1719 - photos to come out soon...
gxseries
Here are the pictures: http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/6342/1719pfrz7.jpg http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/3530/1719pbqs2.jpg It's very likely to be Uzd 2412 over 2414 isn't it? squirrel
sorry, a bit too tough for my eyes... hard to read a date, BUT i think i see a "1" where the last digit would be..., so 1721 is my guess. also, check out the date on the 1721 polushka i posted ((#5 to the right) notice anything different? gxseries
squirrel, I'm getting pretty certain that it's a 1719 as there is a "O" with a line across it and then a "I" after it. Looks like I'll have to get some close up photos I'm hoping to get another table lamp... And yes, I did notice the funky reversed 7 which I thought is cool
squirrel
i can see the cyrillic 9 now... i think... and that "1" would be the "I"..... any luck with the other ones?
gxseries
squirrel, many thanks. I am very certain that it's the common variety 1719 polushka, thanks to your photo. I do seem to see the letter D under the right side claw. Would have been too exciting if it's the scarce one but I doubt it
