Peter Paul
Dear Fellow Collectors, In recent years I've asked a few people who had the possibility to get Soviet coins to look for specific years for me. None of them ever wrote me they found these specific coins. Can anyone tell me if these coins are really available or very scarce? Do they exist at all? Best regards, Peter Paul 5 kopek 1965, 66, 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, 72 10 kopek 1965, 66, 67, 68 15 kopek 1965, 66, 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, 72, 73, 74, 75 20 kopek 1965, 66, 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, 72, 73, 74, 75, 76, 91 50 kopek 1967, 71, 75, 76, 90 1 roebel (non commemorative) 1961, 65, 66, 67, 70, 71, 72, 73, 75, 76, 78, 79, 81, 82, 83, 84, 85, 88,
gxseries
Yes some years are so scarce that you are likely to blow a couple of hundreds on it. For example the 1976 20 kopeks is worth some 150+ USD last time I saw on ebay (didn't remember the final price) but yes, that is the price for a SINGLE coin. There was a post somewhere that WCO mentioned that he never saw a circulated example of 1976 20 kopeks simply because it was only meant for mint sets. There are some other coins too that are just not commonly found in circulation. Most likely as you have noticed, the 1970, 73 set are perhaps one of the more difficult sets to complete. Recently the price of uncirculated mint set of 1970 was sold for over 600-650USD, 73 for 150USD, 71,72 around 200USD if I am not mistaken. 1967-1969 mint sets should be relatively cheap, at around 20 dollars each. I will have to finish up my site of Soviet coins sooner or later anyways And yes, you are definately doing better than I am
WCO
All coins are possible to find, but some of them worth just a dollar-two, while others are scarce and quite expensive. From the list scarcer coins are: 5 kopek 70, 71, 72 with 1970 being the key to the series. 10 kopek 1965, 66 with 1965 being the key to the series. Also scarce is 1991 no mintmark but it's not on your list. 15 kopek 1965, 70, 71, 72, 73, 74 with 1970 being the key 20 kopek 1970, 73, 74, 76, and 1991 without mintmark with 1991 being the key and 1976 being the second rarest. 50 kopek 1967, 71, 75, 76, 90. Those are not scarce $5-10 per coin. However, there were coins dated 1986-1990 with wrong dates on the edge, those are very scarce and expensive WCO
Peter Paul
Thanks for the replies on my question! It helps to confirm the ideas I already had on this subject. Unfortunately Krause doesn't mention any mintage figures of these particular coins so I couldn't be sure. Scottishmoney
Spasiba, now I will have to go check through my big bag of change leftover from my stay there. I remember the one coin I never seemed to have had enough of there was the 2 kopek coin, it was scarce always because it was used in the pay phones. I had to use a few for that purpose at times, so I might not now have any.

Scottishmoney
roaddevil - those are extremely common. What are less common, but priced low still are the novodel or restrikes from the 1980's.
