Scottishmoney
1836 Silver Dollar Curious, are the "professional grading type people" calling what appears to be an old cleaning - altered surfaces? BTW - Perhaps Lost Dutchman is modest, but click also on his other auctions of fascinating silver dollars

BTW - Perhaps Lost Dutchman is modest, but click also on his other auctions of fascinating silver dollars in reference to the Gobrecht dollar... it does appear that they are calling it altered surfaces for an old cleaning... the gentleman that sold most of the coins that I have listed is looking to consolidate his collection and buy some super coins.... Unc 1893 S morgans and stuff...

Unc 1893 S morgans and stuff... Hmm... I would have considered either of these a super coin. Probably worth more than my whole collection put together. By the way, LD, I love the "WOW!!!" appended to the end of each title.

thedeadpoint
Are that clashed dies I see? See under STATES Jos Hmm.. assuming you are talking about the marks on the upperleft of the wing, I don't see an observe design feature that would act as a source for those marks. No, I mean in the STATES, between A & T there is some trace of the Y of LIBERTY, I think. Jos
