LostDutchman
hey gang I ran across this guy today... Its a very good counterfeit. I wanted to snap a few pics. Some of the stars have been retooled... but over all its a monster counterfeit. I tried to meddle with the colors... but I didn't want to do to much... this coin is still made of %90 gold but is a complete fake... and for piece of mind I scrapped it today so its on its way to be melted
tommyd
Odd that it's the common '27...
jtryka
Interesting, the reverse doesn't look unusual, it's the obverse that has problems, particularly with the rays, high point surfaces and stars.
rittenhouse
Hard to tell from the pics, but it appears that there are many small lumps on both obv & rev. If so, this is a fairly well-know counterfeit and not all that deceiving. if you want to see a good fake pick up an Omega. I've even seen a couple in TPG slabs. thedeadpoint
If I remember correctly, the Omegas actually are collectible now more as a novelty pieces.

TreasureGirl
Note to self-If ever buying gold, buy Certified! No kidding, I never would have known! Is there a definite weight difference between this guy and the real thing? That'd be the only way I'd be able to tell.
