5kop1766EM normal size and oversize

Recommended Posts

Hi, just want to share - enjoy, Sigi

[...snip...]

Very nice, Sigi! :ninja:

The edge of the smaller, thicker coin looks like it has doubling in the pattern very close to the smooth area. If the normal edging device had been used, I don't see how this flat area would occur and still have the doubling? IIRC, the doubling was caused by rotating the coin too far between the parallel edging devices. Perhaps some kind of collar was used instead?

Not uncommon on milled edge coinage. Misfeed of the planchets. Neither coin made a full turn btwn the dies.
