bobh
What do you think guys - is it a genuine novodel or a modern fake? http://cgi.ebay.de/P11-9-Zarenreich-4-Kope...1QQcmdZViewItem He (or she) says, "Leider fehlt mir das Interesse und auch das Fachwissen um diese Medailen und Münzen beurteilen zu können..." I know that your German is at least as good as mine (which is also probably better than that of the seller of this coin, although he/she seems to be German!), so I will leave this decision to you... kisenish
Thanks a lot for your replies, guys! The reason why I asked is - I saw you, Josh, bidding on this coin and got doubts: maybe it is a genuine novodel if you want it???
squirrel
Thanks Alex.. With all the fakes out there, i have a new strategy for collecting. I will specialize in Fakes of Russian rarities... that way, if a less than scrupulous seller pulls a fast one, and sends me a genuine coin, i can at least sell it for big money, and buy more fakes! bobh.. could you translate for me? i dont read german very well
bobh
bobh.. could you translate for me? i dont read german very well Sure: "Leider fehlt mir das Interesse und auch das Fachwissen um diese Medailen und Münzen beurteilen zu können..." In English: "Unfortunately, I lack both the interest as well as the background knowledge about these medals and coins; therefore I cannot provide an opinion about them..." Na zdorove! squirrel
Thanks for the translation, bobh I do have a couple of original 4 kopecks from 1762, sadly, someone came along in subsequent years and overstruck them as 2 kopecks.....
