bobh
I'm having difficulties deciding whether this one is of the flat or raised striking variety: 1913 Romanov rouble At first, I thought it was flat because of the short chain segment at the right of the obverse picture; however, the aggressive lighting makes everything appear raised! What do you think?
gxseries
Good question. I am quite sure that it's the lower relief version because of the cross on the portrait of Michael Fedorovich Romanov as well as the short chain. It might be one of the few coins that was freshly struck. Now I better remind myself to get an example before the prices go mad on this commemorative coin too.
