That was about the upper limit of what could be tucked into the mouth whilst taking the coin to the market to buy fresh pressed olive oil. Clothing was not pocketed for things like money etc. then. But such diminutive pieces make you wonder how they executed such great three dimensional design with limited tooling, and optics back then.
