Anniversary coin will be only official mark of Act of Union

Recommended Posts

COMMEMORATIONS to mark the union of Scotland and England have been postponed until after May's election for fear they could become a "political football" if held prior to the crunch vote.

The only official event on January 16 takes place in London, when Gordon Brown and Scottish Secretary Douglas Alexander launch a commemorative £2 coin.
