Drusus
Is this a fake? I cant find anything about it, I found one mention of it but it was on a fakes list...any info about this coin would be of great help.
ccg
Not sure. It looks like a store card variation of commonly seen guinea-like gambling tokens/counters, but the well done reverse, as well as the font used on the reverse would lead me to lean towards suggesting that it's a more modern (20th century) store card rather than early/mid 19th century. banivechi
The characters on Av looks very very modern to me.
Hussulo
It’s a George III replica Guinea advertising token. The reverse is a good likeness of a George III spade Guinea and the obverse has the bust of George III but around him are the advertiser’s logo. A real Guinea is made from gold. There where many advertising or gaming tokens made as well as forgeries made from debased metal. Here is a picture of an original Guinea obverse for comparison :

Drusus
Although I was aware this isnt a real guinea, I though it might be a contemporary token immitating a guinea...what year do you think this was minted? I assume not 1798
ccg
As suggested in my post, I'm thinking 20th century, and leaning towards the middle or latter part.
Drusus
Okay...thanks for the info...I was told on another forum it might be 1800's but I was leaning towards a later date myself as well...
