Titanium... :ninja:

This question actually got me thinking a bit and I went back and forth on opinion but in the end I'll say pure silver (though all the "white" metals are nice to a degree)

Silver's got it all. Looks great all the way from frosty white to dark toned. Its got intrinsic value. And it even sounds great when you (oops) drop it.

Silver, for its color, its conductivity, its reactivity and its ring.

exactly. Reactivity ranks high.

Great poll, Jlueke. I was actually going to make this same poll the moment I got on this morning (I was driving all day yesterday)!

Isn't German silver (alias Melchior; Neusilber) the same Copper-nickel (alias Cupronickel)?

Almost. Copper-nickel is an alloy of those two metals, e.g. Cu750 Ni 250. German silver/Neusilber/Argentan contains zinc; many GDR coins, for example, have Cu620 Zn200 Ni180.
