akdrv
A link to this site was sent to me through OmniCoin. It's an amazing coin and story that goes with it. http://www.petitioncrown.com/Home_Page.html "The site introduces Thomas Simon one of the Worlds greatest engravers An entrepreneur born at the beginning of the 17th century. The coin is his 'masterpiece' engraived two years before his death. We will begin to show you his influence spread on other coins. Simon at the age of 24 was requested to engrave a copy of the Great Seal of England in 1642 and was paid the incredible sum of £100-."

Emperor Oli
They have one of those at my local museum (Blackburn). Never been on display though! I suppose I could arrange a private viewing with the Curator one day.

40years
Hi I saw the Petition Crown also at Spinks new Showroom, WOW it is fantastic. The www.petitioncrown.com shows the Petition Cown next to the other World King the 1804 $, but forgets to say they were all made in the 1840's. If the 1804 $ is worth nearly £2.5m Pounds how much do we think??? Look forward to see the answers.
